This page contains links to digital humanities projects that complement my publications.

Der Fragmentenstreit: Heresy for the Masses (Scalar)

The Scalar book Der Fragmentenstreit: Heresy for the Masses presents the key texts from this religious dispute as well as contemporary commentary. It includes a visualization of how the various texts interrelate, a chronology of the public debate, and texts relating to Lessing’s censorship.

The Pantheism Controversy (Omeka)

The Omeka exhibition The Pantheism Controversy uses the Neatline tool to walk visitors to the site through the entire dispute step by step. Many of the major texts are directly embedded.

Enlightenment Suppressed (Transkribus)

The Transkribus site Enlightenment Suppressed contains transcribed and annotated manuscripts related to efforts to bring the German Enlightenment to an end.

Der Apparat (Virtual Reality)

A 3D model of Kafka’s torture device was built using Tinkercad. An STL of the device can be downloaded from Sketchfab. With a virtual reality headset, the apparatus can be visited on Glitch.
